Biofueled heating for a sustainable future
Both the heating facility and the connected underground culvert system are dimensioned with the possibility of extending the reach and capacity of the heating facility maintained.
The biofueled main furnace has a capacity of 300 kW, which corresponds to 90 percent of the demand. The remaining 10 percent are primarily used during the winter and are delivered by an oil fueled boiler in the same facility. The main furnace is fueled with wood pellets that are produced from a nearby floor manufacturer’s by-products, consisting of sawdust, chips and bark.
The installation of the biofueled furnace is beneficial from both economic and environmentally perspectives. Due to reduced use of oil, the carbon emissions are substantially reduced and the net contribution of carbon to the atmosphere is close to zero.
